If you will go into the forum "fitness & excersise" there is a pinned thread for My Fitness Pal, and one for Fitbit...

I have it and I love it! It keeps me motivated to move. I now take the stairs instead of escalators and elevators. Always trying to earn the next badge. Definitely worth the money.

I just heard of them here today. I have a sedentary life right now, and my doctor needs to know my activity level. I think it will be great to give me perspective motivation and have the ability to show my doctor how my life has changed since now. I bought it today. Really nervous, as it was a spontaneous buy, but there are so many positive things said in this forum. I hope to be a loser soon.

I am 10 days postop but bought one shortly before surgery. I am planning to start using it soon. I hear it is very motivating.

I have had mine since January and love it! I had surgery almost 2 weeks ago and haven't used it since I have been home but next week might be a good week to get it out and get back in the grove.

Love my Fitbit! A few of my friends also have them and we can see each others' step count for the day - it's good motivation to not slack off!

I ordered mine yesterday. If you go to mypoints.com and go to daily deals you can get a $10.00 of promo code. I got mine for $89.96 free shipping!! Don't know if that's a good deal, but I felt it was considering eBay is around same price.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
