HadToDoIt40 34 Posted June 15, 2012 It's been a while... I had a hysterectomy 6 years ago and have not had PMS symptoms in nearly a year. But just this week my breasts have been so tender...even THINKING about them hurts! I am also bloated, retaining Water and have back pain. Sound familiar ladies? Anyway, I wondered if the surgery may have somehow triggered these symptoms to return?
ShapeShifter 64 Posted June 15, 2012 Fat loss releases hormones into your system that were trapped in the fat cells. This makes sense, though it does not sound pleasant. All the best to you on your journey!

kyllfalcon 768 Posted June 15, 2012 It will probably pass. I had a hysterectomy in my 40's, almost 60 now, and stopped HRT just prior to surgery in March. My boobs got so sore and stayed sore for a few weeks, now it's gone. I have not returned to HRT, and feel great without it. Before I needed it because I was so dang hot all the time, but not now! ~Donna~ 33 Posted June 15, 2012 Congrats on your weight loss. I've been losing and I'm not sure how. I haven't been sleeved yet... July 9th is my day. I'm so ready for my hormones to get under control.
kwindham 57 Posted June 15, 2012 I had a total hyst at 30 and have been a burning inferno since, but since the weight started coming off the symptoms are going away. Talked to my surg about it at my 8 week and he said don't stop the hrt yet, talk to my gyn but it was okay to half the dosage. Sooo excited about this side effect of vsg! :~)
made2beme 119 Posted June 15, 2012 Oh Praise the Lord....is it really possible Menopause symptoms can get better or go away?? I had a total hyster at 32 and have been on HRT, finally with a combination of Estrodiol & Effexor I feel human again, but still constantly burning up, sweating constantly & still drench the bed when sleeping. I was afraid my HRT may hinder my weight loss....but never thought about the symptoms getting better yeah for VSG!!!!
chicagochic 73 Posted June 15, 2012 This is very helpful. I had both of my ovaries removed due to cysts and don't get periods at all, unless I take birth control pills (for the hormones). Well I decided I liked not getting periods so I stopped taking the birth control pills months ago and hadn't had a period in about 7-8 months. Then I started to get cramps a week post-op and had my period for a week! I didn't even have a period for a whole week when I had two good ovaries. I hate it! ~Donna~ 33 Posted June 15, 2012 I haven't had anything taken out but I have been having horrible breakouts, horrible periods and hot flashes. My Dr. says it is the change in my hormones due to the weight I have recently lost. She says it will level out when I get to a stable weight.
Wheetsin 714 Posted June 15, 2012 Crazy hormones for 3 - 4 weeks, easy. Slowly tapering off. My smooth skin was broken out like a pepperoni pizza, and that was just the start of it. I've had 2 TOMs since then. Moderate breakout the first, 2 or 3 pimples the last, but they went away in a day.
