Self Sabotage...please Help Me!

Recommended Posts

So I am a little over 1 year out. Lost 100% of my excess body weight in 7 months and have been maintaining for 6 months almost and now....all of the sudden the scale is going up. I AM TERRIFIED! I have been eating like a thin person who doesn't have to watch what they eat...like lots of sugar ( my nemesis) but I am exercising daily and drinking plenty. I don't count anything and know I eat more carbs than I need (sugar again). This is totally my old pattern. Lose the weight and as soon as I get to my goal...eat like a crazy person and gain it back. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I can't be one of those people you hear about who lost all the weight only to gain it all back....did I mention that I am TERRIFIED???? I cut out the candy yesterday and suffered the inevitable carb withdrawl headache...I love to exercise and do so every day but ...OMG....someone please slap me and help me get off this merry go round from hell!

You have had amazingly wonderful success. You already know that you are a warrior woman. It is time to take a hold of the power you own and use it to make the right choices for continued good health. Protien and veggies FIRST! Consider a reward of one square of dark chocolate (lower sugar), or have a chocolate or vanilla Protein Shake. To me (pre-op) they taste like a sweet treat, even though they are low carb. YOU CAN DO THIS! You have already fought this dragon once... now you need to remind it who is boss.

The Power of Habit - READ THIS!

by Charles Duhigg

You recognize you went otuside what you have to keep doing, what you have to maintain.

thing is, we may lose the weight, but we will never be that other person, not in terms with our relationship with food - and we cannot go back to being the self-destructive ball of habits we were...

best to you! Strong green energy headed your way.

I go though that exact same thing! i have a severe carb addiction. like you, sweets is my downfall. This week I did lilmissdivas boot camp diet thing. it really helps with breaking that addiction and makes you focus on eating the right things. It has been easier than I thought but think its because i am so focused on getting that gallon of liquid in that I don't have time to think about junk food. there simply isn't any room fo it with all that liquid. I hate plain Water, so I do crystal light and unsweetened tea. I wish you the very best!!

It's time for a purge. I'm talking cupboards, drawers, glove compartments ... anywhere there is a stash. Put your brave face on and grab a trash can and start dumping. If you find you can't do it, your issues may run even deeper and some counselling may be necessary.

If it isn't in the house, it can't go in you mouth. There is an old saying, "Sit in a barbershop long enough, you're going to get your hair cut."

If you don't want your hair cut, then GET OUT OF THE BARBER SHOP!!

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You are going to have to do a detox session with yourself. Get rid of everything that is bad and replace it with healthy Snacks that will satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time give you the nourishment you need without all the bad stuff in your body. Just turn your home into a rehab and go back to the original rules that helped you lose the weight to begin with. You will get back on track after you relax and devise a plan of action. You can do this and you know you can because you have conquered worse already. Keep smiling and fight back. : )

I totally agree with the comments I've read. You have to PURGE the house of EVERYTHING. Do diva's bootcamp and one even further, go to counseling. Somewhere there is a trigger and I encourage talking about that with a professional - they can be a wealth of "other ways" to approach things and might just change your perspective. Best of luck!

Thank you all for the reality check and the encouragement. I have printed off the Boot camp directions and plan to hit that immediately. I guess I have been enjoying the "eat anything I want with no repercussions" and it has caught up with me. I will not miss eating so much white chocolate that I make myself sick....same with kettle corn. I love both of these and as sliders...well let's just say I can consume my fair share plus more. Seeing the scale go up has been a good reality check for me. I have always exercised alot since my sleeve but I have been abusing my poor pancreas with all the sugar. I am back on track...or at least back to eating well. Thank you all for coming to my rescue!!

Living the dream,

Laura

I am really scared too! Just this past week I can eat even more than ever. Slice of pizza goes down like a normal person. I think I have to really make sure that I also have dense protien at work. So I guess tuna packs, but oh the salt. I really have to start baking!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
