Wonderful hospital and everything went well. I was up and walking 1.5 hours after surgery. You are in great hands with this team of Dr's. The Brigham has a recovery floor dedicated to wls along with operating rooms also dedicated for wls only. You will do great!!! Best of luck. Kellie

After Surgery, I was up and walking around (Ambulating!) within 2 hours, and the day after surgery, it mostly felt like I'd done too many situps. The only thing that still hurts, and not that much, is to cough or sneeze.

Use the search option on the top of the user menu- just below the title section, and you can find almost any topic on this website. I have made it easier for you. This video was posted a week or so ago. It is the surgeons you are referring to.

you really should watch.

I had surgery 05/07 w/Dr. Lautz. I have 2 sisters who had gastric bypass with him also before my banding. We have ALL had good results. My wight loss is slower, but I am keeping off what I ve taken off so far. He's supposed to be the best!! People go to Dr. Lautz when they have complications, so I felt good knowing he'd be doing my surgery.

hey sueol...

i am having my surgery at BW hopefully this summer. I am a registered nurse and trust me, ive check out every facility and chose this location to have my surgery. I really think you made a great decision. I chose Dr. Lautz because of his credentials which I thoroughly checked out with the state board of medical licensure. He has an excellent reputation, is board certified and is the director of the bariatric center at BW. I think things will go well for you.

Hi...I am having surgery on Sept 17th with Dr. Robinson. I had gone to a seminar which he led and I really liked his no-nonsense approach!

Sueol:

I'm sorry for never responding to your original post. I didn't realize that there was a MA section on here, so I never took the time to read! Next time you can do a search for it...

I had Dr. Robinson on Dec. 12, 2007 and would be glad to talk with you about my experience! PM me if you want to catch up sometime.

At the risk of boring others whom I've already discussed this with--I had a great experience. Dr. Robinson admittedly has little personality and ability for small talk. His PA, Dorothy, and I joke about it all the time. However, he is a skilled surgeon! My scars are small and very unnoticeable (though never a concern of mine...) and he has been very helpful through some initial frustrations I had. I never expected him to be as supportive as he has been after my initial impression, but he has been great. He's not a "warm" guy per se, but after 8 months, I think I finally get him!

I'm very pleased with his work and would wholeheartedly recommend him to you! :)

OK>>>So I've just realized that Sueol posted that 2 years ago!!! UGH. I'm leaving it there in the event that someone else would like information about Dr. Robinson. LOL

Hello - I had the band surgery at B&W this past Wednesday, August 6, with Dr. Vernon. Everything went great and the Dr. and the nurses are extremely nice and helpful. They have a floor dedicated to gastric surgery and all of the staff is familiar with the procedures.

Yep - 15B is the dedicated floor for gastro surgeries. I was in the first room on the left, room 41. I am sure we saw each other because I was there until 7pm on 8/7 and was walking around throughout the day! =)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
