Mid To Late August Hopefully!

Recommended Posts

My last appointment before insurance submit is july 11th. Really hoping for a quick approval so I can work on all the things I need right before and get into that two week liquid diet. My date was orig. Going to be sometime mid late november but thanks to some insurance changes its now more likely august! My brother is doing this with me all the way so we are both thrilled. Anyone else looking at august as the month for them? Anyone have any advice?

I'm looking at early to mid August. I have Cigna and was originally looking at November, but since they cut the requirements from a 6 month supervised diet to a 3 month one, they moved me up. I have one more appoint with the dietician, then they'll submit for approval. I hope I don't have any problems getting approved.

My insurance is cigna as well. I should be submitting july 11th. That's my last appointment and insurance lady at the office I see said she would have everything ready to submit by the time I let the office. I'm super excited but so nervous! I've been working towards this since feb. Only been going to the surgeons office since april 4th though. I'm ready to be on the other side!

Good luck to you! I'll be done with my insurance requirements at the end of this month but because of my work schedule, I'll probably be a mid August sleever as well.

Yay! Its going to be a good august. Not only that but hopefully no holiday weight gain. I'm super excited to get this done before the holidays. I don't want them centered around food anymore! Good look to both of you too!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
