How Offen Should I Eat And Drink?

I sometimes forgot to eat or drink sometimes and I want to know of how offer you should eat and drink. I want to set up a schedule for myself so that way I can remember when to eat and drink. I really don't want to make mistakes cause I'm a little afraid that I might accidently stretch my stomach more.

I'm on day 8 of 21 of my postop liquid diet. I look forward to the replies. Good question.

Do not worry, you will not stretch your sleeve -- especially during the liquid phase! I was drinking my morning and lunch Protein Shakes about every 4 hours, considering it could take me an hour or more to finish just 8oz in the first weeks after surgery. Then at night, I'd have my broth or Soup Protein about 5 hours after finishing my lunch shake. Most of the time in between I would be sipping on Water or tea to meet my 64oz Fluid intake. Of course, I'd stop the water about 30-45 minutes before a "meal" and resume about an hour after finishing.

Here is what i was told in my post op booklet:

You pretty much have to drink one oz of liquid every 15 minutes during all your waking hours to get your liquids in. Or at least 4 oz per hour.

I was told to eat Breakfast, lunch and dinner and one "Protein power up" mid morning, and one mid afternoon as well. All of this should be around 600-800 calories. with 60-80 grams of Protein.< /p>

(a "protein power up" is a low fat protein snack, like a cheese stick or 1/2 cup cottage cheese or half a Protein shake or something like that)

OUtside of that, he says no snacking.

Dooter and Emlefe have said it all. Just know that your stomach is still swollen and will be this way for awhile still. Everybody is different, so I can't tell you exactly when your swelling will go down, but it will. As the swelling goes down, your stomach capacity will increase, so don't freak out thinking that your stomach is stretching. It isn't. It just isn't as swollen as it was immediately post-op. I figure I was pretty swollen for 3-4 weeks as I couldn't eat or drink much of anything in this time. I set alarms for myself to remind myself to eat. It worked until I found my new routine. But don't worry. You are not going to stretch your sleeve. Do a site search keyword stretch to see a TON of threads on this topic.

Thanks you everyone for your answers. I really feel a lot better after reading your post. I'm planning on making an appointment to see my doctor and make sure that everything is fine before I move back to washington state. My uncle is going to help me with college.

I live in Iowa for a good two years now, but I wasn't happy in hearing the news that 'we might move back to washington' when my mother mention it. We had a long talk about it and when I asked her 'why were we moving back to washington', she explain to me. I was pretty upset and didn't want to move back, but I tried not to make my mom feel like a bad guy.

After cooling myself off, getting rid of my anger, and stress. I realized that maybe we were met to go back, and maybe it was met to happen for a reasons.
