gallbladders work when you eat a "normal" amount of food, gallbladders over work and pump out more bile when you over eat which is why most of us are here, so when you are not eating a lot of food and you go from one extreme to the other you will def have a possibility of gallbladder issues whether it be stones or it needs to be removed, mine is already gone, and I haven't asked anyone yet but I am kind of worried about scar tissue :/

Having gall bladder problems is very common after WLS. Most people end up having their gall bladders out. The told me in the hospital that rapid weight loss causes gall stones.

Gall bladder surgery was much more painful that either my band or my sleeve surgery.

I specifically asked my doctor; he said the odds are one in ten that a WLS patient will have gallbladder issues.

Haha! Not sure how much it weighs! I've noticed shoulder blade pain at various times, but worse after eating. Wierd thing is I've had no stomach pain. I am hoping to have an ultrasound on Friday.

One in ten...wondering if I should go buy a lottery ticket? Looks like the odds may be in my favor! Great! :/

Last week on my 4 month check up they performed an abdominal ultrasound n no more fatty liver but they did see a small tiny stone in my gallbladder .. Is there something I can do to prevent it?? My doctor wasn't too concerned he said it's so small he thinks it should pass .. But idk if I should worry about it??

I had mine out in 2007. If you start having pain on the right side of your abdomen toward the bottom of your rincage, it is most likely your gallbladder. However, gallbladder pain can radiate too to other areas. Just be aware of it and check with your doctor if you have any abnormal pains. Especially due to the higher risk of having issues with it. For me, having my gallbladder removed was much easier than my VSG.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
