YES, there is no reason why you can't use the Heimlich on a bandster.

Ya know, I wondered the same thing. My port is in the place where you would position your hands and thrust.

The reason I asked is that my port is exactly in the place where someone would put their fist in order to do the Heimlich on me.

There seems to be a trend to put the port between your breasts but lower down below bra level (if you're a female) or in the similiar spot on a male. Sternum maybe??? Supposedly they can access the port better where there isn't so much fat like in our tummies. I dunno but that is where it is. If I needed the Heimlich done and it was done properly it would push the port in pretty violently. Naturally I would rather live (duh) then die with an uninjured port but due to its placement it does bear discussing or at the very least an awareness.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
