Hi all, I just have been curious about a few things. I am 8 weeks post op today and I have lost 49 pounds. I started my journey at 385 pounds and I really thought I would be losing weight a lot faster than I have. Is what I am experiencing normal or should I be concerned. I guess it is all unknown so I just wanted to put the question out there to see if anyone had any words of advice. Any words of wisdom are much appreciated.

6lbs a week is a great weightloss. I was sleeved a week ago and would love to have these same results.

I think it sounds like a great loss for only two months!! Seriously, I am guessing you're doing just fine, that's good loss for reals.

Sounds like you're falling into the trap that most of us do......comparing ourselves to others! I don't blame you, I catch myself doing it all the time too. The important thing to remember is that you are unique and you will lose the weight at your own pace.

6 lbs a week is AWESOME! And honestly it will probably slow down in the future, and you'll be back wishing it was dropping off this fast!

Also, I too was 300+ lbs when I started, and I've been morbidly obese my entire adult life (and most of my teenage years too). So I have A LOT of stretched skin. Personally, though I would love to be down to my goal weight of 135 as soon as possible, I'm concerned that too rapid weight loss won't give my skin a decent chance of "springing back" very well.

I'm probably going to have to have some surgery on my abdomen and arms (batwing city!), but the most I can do to help reduce that chance the better! That includes a slower weight loss, working out (especially with weights!), and drinking lots and lots of liquids to nourish my skin.

You're doing very very well, and just keep up the good work. It's a long, tough journey, but one where we learns the habits and tools that we'll be maintaining for the rest of our lives! Well worth it, in my opinion! :)

You are doing great, remember this is not a miracle cure, but the next best thing. It does take time, but your numbers are great.

Patting ourselves on the back is an exercise I think we all need to take up! We are all doing some amazing things and I don't think most of us give ourselves enough credti. You're doing great, pat yourself on the back!! :)
