Blood Sugar Levels At A Alltime "healthy" Low!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Over the week my blood sugar levels have consistently been getting lower, and without any medication!

Yesterday:

Fasting: 114

Before dinner: 75

This am's fasting was 104!

Been averaging 80-90 all day long.

I am 9 days post op and still on liquid diet?

Feeling pretty good.

Last two days I have done 60 minutes on the elliptical and feel pretty good. I can tell I get a little tired about 1 hour afterwards, but nothing major.

Thanks for reading, just wanted to share my fist success story...one of hopefully many to come.

I'm a week post op myself and my sugaris also doing great. consistantly between 85-100 and only near 110 after I eat my liquid diet currently. I do imagine once we get on more substantial solid foods our sugar levels will increase, but nothing like it used to be.

Just keep monitoring your levels and keep up the good work!

That's great....glad to hear your levels are where they should be, so soon after.

I have been very aggressive in controling by BG levels since being diagnosed with diabetes in 2007 - I was told I was "no longer diabetic" - what you would call remission, I suppose, since march...right at 2 months out from the surgery.

Getting my diabetes under control with no medication was my biggest achievement. It is amazing what this tool can do for you. My A1C test runs about 5.5 and my fasting glucose is under 100 and has been since surgery. That alone was worth the surgery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
