Fecal Color, Is There Something Wrong?

Recommended Posts

Had my sleeve on may 1 2012, and it has been more than I expected, I had one of my entries infected, then 3 weeks after surgery had to go back to the hospital very dehydrated, with headaches and fever, that was two weeks ago, I have been on pure food and Soups for the past 2 weeks, used to have terrible headaches after I ate any chicken pate that is al gone, energy is getting better, not feling as sick as before, but I have notice that in the past week and a half every time I go to the bathroom almost every day, my poop has a very light color, not white but light yellow, it's not to soft, but not like the first weeks were it was much more brown and Water like, also since Sunday I get stomach pain nothing to bad and it comes and goes, I'm taking my nexium every morning and melox before any meal, Dr. Sayed to do these since they had to deal with a big hernia from years of acid reflux.

My doctor is 4 houers away in Mexico were I had the operation.

Any one has any ideas? Is these normal? I'm easily freaked since I've never had health issues before, except for my back (way I had the sleeve in the first place, to avoid back surgery), and also I am a bit anal

Can you email or call your doctor? That's what I recommend.

Yellow Stool

Yellow stool can indicate that food is passing through the digestive tract relatively quickly. Yellow stool can be found in people with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Symptoms of GERD include heartburn, chest pain, sore throat, chronic cough, and wheezing. Symptoms are usually worse when lying down or bending. Foods that can worsen GERD symptoms include peppermint, fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, and chocolate.

Yellow stool can also result from insuffient bile output. Bile salts from the liver gives stool its brownish color. When bile output is diminished, it often first appears as yellow stool. If there is a greater reduction in bile output, stool lose almost all of its color, becoming pale or grey.

If the onset is sudden, yellow stool can also be a sign of a bacterial infection in the intestines.

My stool is very acidic yellow and my doc said it was ok, just my body relearning my new digestive process without much Fiber. It should resolve as our diet evolves. Still ask your doctor for advice because we are all different.

I sent him an email, already and I'm waiting for a reply, but last time I was in the hospital they did a not sure of the name if is a cat scan, but basically is like an MRI for the organs to see my stomach and be sure there wasn't any leek, and all was alright, except for a hematoma in the liver, that the Dr said it wasn't any thing to worry about, most people that have these surgery will have them just by moving the liver around, so I hope is just like lizzieshade says and is a normal part of the healing.

Still worried do!

In the event that it is a bile problem, are there solutions for it?

Thanks for the info btw.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
