Spicy Foods?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! So question for the old expert sleeves out there.. I am a chili fanatic..I used to like hot things..but now I am so used to having lightly spiced foods secondary to being sleeved 9 weeks ago. My question is when do you eat spicy food again? I tried some baked chicken breast meat with some seasoning spice and honestly ..it was too much..this from someone who loves habernos. So ..is this something that could be incorporated later? Thanks for the help in advance!

Everybody is different. I was adding hot long green chilies to my blended refried Beans 10 days post-op. I'm now 3weeks post-op & have no problems with roasted & peeled jalapeños.

It definetly is an individual thing. When i came home from the hospital i slipped some into my chicken broth and i about cried it was so hot. Im almost a month out and can tolerate heat as i used to before. Its a trial and error thing, i wouldn't start testing things out until your a few weeks out just for safe measure. I hope your sleeve lets you have it again. [=

I already eat spicy foods with no problem other than finding a level that I don't feel the need to drink occasionally while I am eating. I make chili every other week and it tends to be very spicy, at first I had to go light until I adjusted to no fluids, but I'm fine with whatever I want now. The other day I had Thai pineapple curry and it was glorious :)

Glad to read the responses to this thread. One of the things that worries me most about this procedure is the possibility of not being able to eat the spices I love. I'm that guy who puts dried tien tsin peppers in eggs and diced cayenne peppers in my tuna. I'd hate to think that my future is going to be bland and boring food. This gives me hope. Thanks.

I just started week four. At week two I was told spicy foods were ok. Try egg drop Soup (high in protein) with a little tobasco/hot sauce.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
