Feeling Defeated Due To Stall

Recommended Posts

Know stalls are written a complained about often, but I'm feeling like the scale is never going to budge! I'm thrilled with what I've lost so far, but I've only lost 2 pounds in 3 weeks. I'm I determined to be stuck here forever?!

I stalled at 3 weeks out for about 10 days. I went on a little vacation and while I was gone I ate a small brownie and some lite popcorn and wham my stall broke. I ended up losing 5 pounds. Keep your chin up.

I know how you feel. I have been stalled for about 5 weeks. It's so frustrating but I keep telling myself it can't last forever.

So sorry you are frustrated and stalled for so long!! Hang in there! I'm sure it'll get better. You're surrounded by people who have been or are in the same place you are in. Find comfort in that!

Sometimes you can help it along by switching things up. Less calories, more calories, +/- carbs, add more Water. Other than that you've gotta wait it out.

This is the reason I got the sleeve! In all the diets I have ever been on I would lose weight at a wonderful rate for 2 to 3 months and then would hit a stall. The stalls would last 3 or more weeks but usually until I got frustrated, said screw it, and went back to all my old eating habits. Of course the weight came right back on.

Now, with the sleeve I will just have to wait it out because I can't go back to eating like I did before.

I hit my first stall (3 weeks out) I am sad not to see those numbers dropping right now, BUT I am so thankful that my scale doesn't say 387 anymore that I can tough it out! It will move again soon!

I hear ya'll on being frustrated with stalls. I've had my share in my 5-week post-op journey so far. My nutritionist explained that rather than the loss being a nice continuous decline it would visually look more like descending stairs in that there will be days where you feel "stuck" but wait it out and then you'll have a bigger "drop". That analogy has helped me thus far when I get frustrated.

I like this analogy!

How long ago were you sleeved? I'm 7 weeks out and STILL stalled from 3 weeks out. I'm going from 29-30lbs lost, up and down up and down for 4 weeks now. I'm so discouraged and MAD. I cant help feeling really mad about it. I've tried upping my calories and exercising like crazy but still nothing. At this point I wish I wouldn't have done the surgery. I know if I suddenly drop 10lbs then I will be happy again, but as of right now I feel like I cut my stomach out for nothing :(

Do not let yourself get down. My journey has been like stairs, it still is now. I will stay the same weight for like a week, then all of a sudden over the course of 2 days I lose a pound or two. Just know that despite the stalls, you will get where you need to be, your body justs wants to make the journey interesting :P

I was sleeved 6 1/2 weeks ago and I've been stalled since 4 weeks. I totally understand your frustration. Sometimes I wonder if I'm gonna be the only person this surgery doesn't work for! Ugh.

I know the same feeling I am 8 weeks post op and I stalled at 4 week out for 2 weeks. Did you take measurements before surgery. The one thing I noticed was that when I was stalled I was loosing inches. Didn't loose pounds but lost inches. Then I started eating 5 small meals per recommendation of my doctor and the ponds starte falling off again. So I know how frustrating it is and how you feel. I thought I was doing something wrong and that I had done this for no good reason. It will get better, your body has to catch up to the weight Loss.

I just went through this. Literally. From week 4 until 3 days ago (sleeved 4/18) I stayed exactly the same weight. I knew I was doing it right. Had not had one thing that wasn't Protein based and would help me get my goal in. But wasn't eating enough calories or drinking enough. My calories were at 300 and my Water... Maybe 40 ounces. Forced my calories and Water intake to double that and lost 3 pounds in 3 day. Plus I work out everyday and chase a 16 month old. The scale will move. Promise. Just hang in there.

Btw, in those 3 weeks, I went down 2 pant sizes and my arms... Yeah, they're getting cut. Stay positive :-)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
