I'm in the group tomorrow too - I'm so excited !!! I started packing and organizing and well' date=' probably over doing anything that's needed (like writing down all sorts of "in the hospital" and "when I'm home" lists for my mom who is taking care of me). I'm a dork - but I have to do something with all the excited energy - I know I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Good luck my fellow 13th sleevers - can't wait til we're all on the losers bench this time tomorrow !![/quote']

Haha Duran! I'm an organizer too. I have about 4 different lists. I'm glad I did though because I've been a little scatterbrained today and it really helped me focus today. Well, I guess I'll go get packed. Finally! Hugs to all of my fellow June 13th-ers!!!!!

I'm so jealous of y'all, my surgery is Monday, 18th, I have been a nervous wreck today, crying about everything! Would any of y'all trade dates with me?

That sounds great, it will be good to have someone to chat with that's going through the same thing at the same time.

I'm back. Everything went well but it was a rough couple of days. The anesthia was the worst. It made me sick a least 5 times. I feel much better now and I am sipping on my liquids more. How is all of my 13th sleevers doing?

Congrats, glad to have you back! I was sleeved on the 13th too and it was pretty easy, given the circumstances and when I say it was easy, I chalk a lot of that up to everything I learned on these forums - I was very well educated on what to expect. My hardest struggle so far is remembering to take it easy and not over do it.

Mine was good ALSO! I will have to say that coming out of surgery I was HOT and did not want the ox mask on at all. But this has been on of the best experience of my life. I am getting a pedicure right now by my doctors daughter in my beautiful hotel room. Having surgery in TJ was the best choice I made with Dr. Kelly. His family treats you like family.

Congratulations! This is a very exciting time for you. I am 4 months out and have lost 73 lbs. Feel free to go through my blog to get ideas on how I deal with different things like, buyers remorse, pureed foods, etc

Dr.Kelly is doing my surgery July 2nd. He hasn't had me complete any medical forms. Will that happen later? Did someone go with you? Thanks :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
