Reet 18 Posted June 12, 2012 I was sleeved on April 9th and had my first glass of wine in months this past Saturday. I added a lot of ice to Water it down & drank it slowly. (probably only had 4oz of wine & 4oz of water) After the first swallow went down I got this very unusual feeling in my stomach. It got very warm & I could feel where the wine was! CanadianDot 11 Posted June 12, 2012 It's nice that your doctor is amenable to wine! A lot of the info I've read has said no alcohol for a full year after the procedure, but if your doctor is okay with it, I'm glad for you!
karenb4729 309 Posted June 12, 2012 My Dr made me promise that I would not drink any alcohol for a minimum of a year. My understanding is that with your new metabolism alcohol hits you different than it did in the past. i am always amazed though at how different Drs have different requirements. Reet 18 Posted June 13, 2012 My doctor advised me not to drink yet also, but I did it anyway. I'm 2 months post surgery & feeling good. If I want to have a glass of wine with my friends once in awhile, I will. 4oz wine + 4oz ice = Great!
lml32937 65 Posted June 13, 2012 I don't enjoy drinking as much as I did pre-sleeve because a) i get a buzz off of a few sips and a few sips fill me up and that is wasted calories to me....
