Hey guys! I had surgery almost 2 Wks ago. For the last couple of days I have been breaking out all over face, neck, and chest. I have never had a skin issue. Maybe a pimple here or there but nothing like this. My face is burning! I think I am having some sort of reaction. The only med I have been taking is Zegrid and I have to do so every night for 3 mons....is/has this happened to anyone else?

The more "core" or belly fat you have, the worse this phenomenon will be (says my derm and my obgyn) because of the estrogen/hormones stored in belly fat.

You can get birth control that may help (as its likely cystic acne caused by hormones) and/or try chemical peels if it's more topical. Def talk to a derm because you don't want scars.

Thanks. My breakouts are def not cystic acne (I have had that before), but are teeny tiny red bumps all over the sides of my face, neck, and chest. I can tell it is acne, but different than any I've ever had before. Really hoping it resolves, but I'll definitely be going to a derm if it's still like this next week.

I thought it was just me! I'm 12 days out and I am breaking out on my chest and collarbone area. Never had this happen before. I'm guessing it's just my body reacting to the changes I'm putting it through. I'm putting acne stufff on it.

Yeah from description I would think its hormonal... I have just started getting some small white bumps on my upper arms and am just focussing on keeping the area clean until it clears up :)

And although it's expensive I would recommend a consult with a dermatologist too :) this is their specialty ;)

Hey guys! When I went to my derm she informed me it generated from a few things: trauma to my body b/c it was major surgery, meds given Durning surgery, and dairy from all the Protein Shakes. she prescribe me ziana and Kenya (something like that) I used it for a few days and it helped in the evening but it would flare up surit the day. I stopped using it. My skin returned to normal after about 3 Weeks. For me it got worst day by day until it went away. Luckily for me it was gone before.I went back to work 7/13. Don't worry guys IT will go away!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
