Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site. My name is Ann and I was banded in August 2004 and had slippage and had to be rebanded in May 2006. My doctor was Wade Barker, Dallas, TX With my first banding I lost 50 lbs than when the slippage started they fooled with that for about 6 months than decided I needed to have it replaced. That took 3 months and in that 3 months with no fill I gained back 25 lbs. I have lost 12 of those 25 already. I really need support. I am having a hard time trying to figure out what I really should be eating at meal times and how often. I just started doing the 6 small meals every 2-3 hours. I sure hope it starts to help me lost it a little faster than I have been. I do exercise 5 days a week. I ususally walk 40 minutes a day on the treadmill. Anyone have any other sugguestions that I might do.

Welcome to LBT, Ann! Sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal. As much as we hear about all the successful experiences with getting the band, we have to remember it doesn't go so smoothly for all. It sounds like you're on the right track again, though. I've heard it said many times here - listen to your body...when you're truly hungry, eat something, and if you're not, don't. Make sure to get your Protein and drink lots of Water. Sounds like you're on the right track with your exercising. There is a great food thread here that you can get a lot of great ideas for meals. And if you need support, you're in the right place :( Good luck to you

Welcome Ann K!

I'm in Texas, too...north of you, north of Denton!

I know a lot of people who have been successful with the 6 meal/day plan...making sure the little meals are no more than 200 cal. each. I think you are on the right track, and you should just stick to it, and you'll see results. Sorry it's been a rough journey so far...hopefully that is all behind you now!

Check in here for support and help along the way!

Cindy

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
