Was anyone offered the "less" procedure? I had my sleeve done entirely thru my belly button. Absolute no scars, staples or drainage bags. My surgeon is a genius. He said not that many doctors are offering it but if you get the chance, please do it. It sped up my healing process dramatically and I was off pain meds by end of day two. Google Dr. Rami Lutfi on YouTube and check around to see the procedure. I thought it was a bit more common but I keep reading about all the concerns of scarring. Anyone else have it this way?

So happy you only have one incision site. I didn't know about this until after I had my procedure. :( But I love my sleeve and I love my skinniness. :)

I'm going to have single incision surgery too. Glad to know it makes a difference in recovery since I'll have limited time off from work. If you don't mind my asking, "Where was your pain? Was it sharp or more like soreness?"

Thanks!

I had no sharp pain at all. I did have some localized pain in my abdomen for about 24 hours after surgery. I did have some nausea and had the dry heaves for about half an hour. That caused me to have a pulling sensation inside for a bit but it went away the next day. I am just under two weeks out and my belly button looks just as if I never had surgery.

Kinda looks like a boob but it's my fat belly! All healed up.

Do wonders never cease. I've only been sleeved for the past 3 months and in that time have already seen 2 or 3 varying ways for these to be done! Medicine sure advances quickly! Thanks for sharing!!

Yes, I was sleeved on June 7, 2012, through a single incision.

However, my pain is concentrated in the belly button area. Right now, I'm experiencing extreme fatigue. I'm also suffering from food choices at this point. My husband took great care of me the first week but, we have 3 kids. So, this week I'm challenged with cooking for the family and cooking for me.

When were you sleeved??

How's it going now??

I was sleeved on may 30th so almost three weeks ago. I have no pain. I was bent over for maybe a week but have had no pain since. I live alone so no challenges with cooking for others. I advanced my diet quickly too but I am not saying you should. I moved to puréed at week 2.5. I just could not do more liquids. I still struggle with getting in all my liquids and Proteins but do better each day. It gets better each day! Hang in there.

Why did you wait so long to start? My Surgeon & NUT recommended daily vitamins from the moment I got home as well as Vitamin B12 (I do the nasal spray once a week)

Yes, my surgeon recommended me to start Vitamins upon discharge from the hospital, as long as you aren't nauseated and can tolerate them.

It is B12 in a nasal spray....it is stronger dosage than the pills/capsules. I have Vitamin B12 deficiency so I don't absorb well orally...but it is great for VSG patients.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
