Failure 32 Posted June 10, 2012 Okay so I've spent the last 2 days looking at online shopping for ramekins and they are pretty hefty in price for decent looking ones so now I'm just curious where did you guys get your ramekins? I'm not so worried about price but I wanted to get a set of 4 or more if I could. So I'm just curious where you guys got yours. I'm going to go to Walmart later today and see if the only ones they have are the plain white ones. I don't mind those.
mkamai 26 Posted June 10, 2012 What's the thought process of ramekins? I am new on the forum and also a chef. Are you just wanting smaller containers. They sell small ASIC throwaways at the grocery store here in Vegas
Failure 32 Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah basically. People like ramekins because often times they are stackable and they are not for storage or for throwing away. They sort of take the place of a bowl that you'd use probably daily but only in a smaller form to help maintain portion for.. ever. They also seem to be really helpful during your 6 week post-op processes.

Failure 32 Posted June 16, 2012 Just wanted to make a quick update. I was at a yard sale type thing today inside of a flea market and you'll never guess what I got! For $3:
LouiseC 1,031 Posted June 16, 2012 I use a rice bowl. It is just the right size and easier to eat from than a ramekin.
Failure 32 Posted June 16, 2012 I like this in star shape actually because I can pour Soup into my mouth easily when it gets low and spoon won't pick it up. Is actually super convenient. I already tried one lol. 1 LouiseC reacted to this

I have two sets. they have measurements on the inside and a measure line. I think they start at 1 oz. I still use these each day and I am 6 months. they were a lifesaver for me soon after surgery since you don't have to measure first before you put something in them. $4.99 a set. I thinks there are five differentsizes in the set. I couldn't be without mine.

Wheetsin 714 Posted June 26, 2012 Umm... lots of places! Kind of depends on what I'm doing with them. I have ones that coordinate with my dinnerware - I bought those at Target (even though my dinnerware didn't come from there). Sold per piece, not as a set. I have some clear plastic ones - I use those for more casual meals, or to hold ingredients I will be using as I cook/bake. Those are from BBB. Also per piece. I also have some black plastic ones that look like mortars - I use those pretty exclusively for holdoing salsas or "Mexican dinner" toppings (diced onion, cheese... for fajita night!). Also sold per piece. I also have some pyrex ones for baking, from Target. Sold as a set of 2 or 4, can't remember. And some ceramic ones from a local kitchen store. Sold per piece. I guess I like my ramekins... 1 Failure reacted to this
