Ughh Sleeved 5.30 And Frustrated

Recommended Posts

So I've been hanging around the house since surgery. I've gone to Walmart, the pharmacy etc., but not anywhere else. Today my mom asked me to go to church with her. I thought, why not? I feel pretty good (had oatmeal for the first time today) and she's been helping me a lot. So I shower and try to get dressed and to my semi horror my clothes don't fit. Like my fav dress pants...NO. So I try my fav jeans and it looks like I could stuff a "package" in the front. Then I take them off without even unzipping them. My shirts are big as well, but with a belt or little cardigan I can make some of them work. Oh but wait! My "little" go to cardi's aren't little anymore. I don't wanna look frumpy by wearing too big clothes, but I didn't realize this would start happening so soon. (Which I should be thrilled about, but it's darn frustrating when you're trying to leave) arrrggghhh Whew....I needed to vent!

I can't wait to be venting about such things! Hope you found something and enjoyed church with your Mom.

Yup, it's so hard not to look frumpy when your clothes are to big. What bothers me the most is that I may look frumpy, but I feel great.

you know what? frumpy is only temporary until you can either go to a yard sale/second hand or just go shopping. i'd take frumpy over fat and unhealthy ANY day of the week!

I think the fact that it reminded me of "fat girl" days is what irritated me so much more. I'm used to having days where nothing fits because it's too SMALL. I just wasn't mentally ready for it to happen the other way around. Yep I've got to have some staples that fit.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
