4 Months Down... Time Is Going By Way Too Fast

Recommended Posts

In a few days I'll have been sleeved for 4 months. It really doesn't even feel like it. Some days are bad but most are good. I do have moments when I want to eat a lot of junk but for the most part I am comfortable with what I can eat. food no longer consumes my day. I would plan everything around food before and none of it was healthy. I am so happy with my sleeve. I feel very lucky to have someone who loves me unconditionally. He supports me 100% and it makes me love him even more. My blood pressure is now normal 124/66 usually from 168/92!!! I have lost 58 lbs. I lost a lot in the beginning but then slowed way down. I even stalled for about a month...lol but I knew I would keep losing and I did. last weekend I did 5 miles on the elliptical in 1 hr. I was so proud of myself. and I never really got out of breath or tired I felt great!!!

Just wanted to give an update and maybe support for those who need it. This forum has helped me so much.

Here are a few pics. one from before surgery at around 320, one taken 6-8-12 in the same shirt except it fits now and another in a shirt I was able to buy in old navy off the rack! also taken 6-8-12 at 262!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
