thinmymind 107 Posted June 26, 2012 I was a similar BMI and had surgery in Mexico with Dr. Kelly. It was $5500 plus airfare. I am 1 1/2 weeks post op, but so far, I am very happy! I highly recommend Dr. Kelly.
julygrammy 3 Posted June 26, 2012 I have 50 to 60 pounds to lose. The Doctor in Mexico said they would operate. I have had a weight problem all of my life. I have tried everything even hypnosis only to see my weight keep going up. I feel it is safer to do before I get even heavier. I have severe Acid Reflux that has required surgery on one of my vocal chords due to nodules from acid reflux. My family supports me. I hope I am doing the right thing. olivia1425 7 Posted June 26, 2012 I did have to gain a few pounds to get my insurance to pay for it. I was so close and have been struggling for years. I'm only 4'11 so my weight really shows up.
girlfriday 59 Posted June 26, 2012 We all are to be commended on taking this step to improve our health. Some may not be morbidly obese, but who is to say we wouldn't end up that way? That was where I was headed. I know with my few health problems, I had to do this because diets do not work. I have sleep apnea, depression, GERD and high cholesterol. No energy and lots of joint pain. Only 40 years old and I feel like I am 80. Let's all give ourselves a pat on the back and a toast to our health and wellbeing. No one should judge us....PERIOD. 2 olivia1425 and ATLSara reacted to this
fatiniowa 10 Posted June 26, 2012 Thinmymind -- How long did they have you stay in mexico until you could fly home? At a week and a half feeling pretty good? You worried about complications to deal with back home? Very pretty btw.
SkinnyOnMe 81 Posted June 26, 2012 Damn! If I would have heard about the balloon before I would have seriously considered it! My doc gave me 3 options. SMH... oh well- too late.
LadyVGD 0 Posted June 26, 2012 <p>Okay, so since I have decided to get the sleeve, what do I do next? I tried calling my insurance but that didnt go over too well. I recently changed insurances so now I'm on the hunt for a new pcp. Any suggestions for a doctor in Houston, Texas that knows how to get the paperwork through Aetnas red tape? The decision itself was massive enough. . . I dont think I could handle a decline from doing the paperwork wrong. I don't have any problems with the BMI issue, sad as it is, I weigh more than enough. But need to schedule it now so I can do it while I'm off from work during Christmas vacation. Any advice?
