Eating after a fill

Hi everyone! I had my first fill 9/1/06. Everything went well. About 5 min. after my fill I could feel the change in the band. Restriction or not I am going to stay with my diet.

Regardless of the time of my fill, my doctor has me do liquids the remainder of the day. He stresses to me to start back on solids the next day.

I just had my first fill two days ago, and my doc said to eat soft food for 10 days (not liquids). (and does this mean that my restriction level could change as the swelling goes down)?

Hi Deana, I am supposed to do liquids for the day of the fill then progress to mushies the next day and if that goes well then I'm back to normal.

Yes, I do believe you can get a false sense of extra restriction following a fill due to the swelling. For me, I felt really restricted for the first 3 days then it backed down quite a bit as my swelling went down. Good luck!

Yep! Seems like every doctor is different. My clinic is very liberal. Water went down just fine right after the fill. He said eat whatever you want - but carefully. New restriction.

I would try to follow whatever your doctor wants, but if you slip up, it doesn't sound like it is going to hurt you much.
