Tingling In Extremities

Recommended Posts

My B-12 levels are always off the spectrum on my last 18 months of lab results and I don't have any tingling; as OTR says' date=' it's a water-soluble Vitamin and excess should be flushed out with your urine. Is your doctor certain it's the B-12 or just guessing because she can't find anything else wrong?

If it keeps tingling or gets worse, ask to see a neurologist.[/quote']

Thanks for the info- I'm not really sure. But I am certain that I WILL go see another Dr if she can't pinpoint it. This is driving me mad

""""Clinical studies revealed that excessive intake of Vitamin B12 can lead to a number of discomforts and side effects such as headache, itchiness, numbness and tingling sensations in the body. An overdose of this particular B Complex Vitamin may also trigger an abnormal heart functions. Furthermore, excessive intake of Vitamin B can lead to a significant rise in the body’s base level of Vitamin B due to malfunctioning kidneys. This can lead to other serious medical complications.""""

I will- there was questions about my back and spine- but I have NO issues with my spine. None.

I have two places that send VERY sharp burning pains in my lower shoulder blades every so often- but I'm pretty sure that's just my heavy breasts pulling down on my ever shrinking frame and hurting me.

The Dr said I need to get started with weight training to help that out- and then a breast reduction long term.

So when you had your issue with your spine did you have any pain or anything? I mean we're there any other signs?

Sometimes (rarely) my lower back would hurt a little bit. I would just stretch it out on an exercise ball and it felt better. I just figured my back hurt b/c I was overweight and I teach pre-k so I bend over all day. It wasn't until I went numb and tingly from the waist down that I had any concerns. The numbness didn't stop. It was constant. That's when I had the MRIs to figure out what's going on. Also, even though I found out about my tumor 2 months after my WLS, just wanted to let you and anyone else reading this know that my tumor had nothing to do with my WLS. My tumor was huge and had been growing in my spinal cord and wrapping itself around my nerves for years. Just don't want to discourage anyone from having WLS, b/c the two are unrelated, and if anything the WLS saved me b/c had I not had the tumor removed when I did I would be paralyzed right now. The weight I lost was enough for my neurosurgeon to feel comfortable about removing my tumor w/out going through a lot of fat to get there. But its gone now, I can walk, most of my nerve damage is gone and Im super skinny, so it all worked out. Woo hoo! Good luck! :)

This could be a real problem. Almost every energy supplement on the market today relies heavily on B12.

I know - I'm excited to get into a nutritionist. I never knew Vitamins were such a complex deal :(

I'm not giving up until I find out what's wrong

I'm 2 weeks post op and my right leg from the tigh to my knee goes numb and tingles.

I experienced this a few years ago and the Dr. put be on potassium too. It seems liek its just not a Vitamin we get enough of, plus it is not in most mutivitamins.

Trying taking 2-3 potatssium pills (you can buy them at Walmart, cvs, etc.) for a few days. Worked for me.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
