I would say yes, increase the calories. I use Myfitnesspal and when I put in my exercise it ups my calorie intake for the day in the calculation. Give it a try, I bet it kicks the weight loss into gear again,. especially with the exercising. Good luck!

My doctor said most people should stay within 800-1000 calories during the "losing phase" even with exercise, but if you're burning 600+, then yes, you probably should eat at least some of your exercise calories. I HATE how MFP automatically adds in exercise calories into your daily limit because I don't agree with that at all. I do think that we shouldn't completely zero out our calories (like eat 800 and burn 800), but I also don't think we should eat all our exercise calories (like MFP says if my goal is 800 and I add 600 exercise, then I can eat 1400 calories). However, I do think we should eat SOME of our exercise calories sometimes just to survive!! It's a trick to find the right balance, but you should definitely make sure you don't overdo it and pass out. Make sure you hydrate as you exercise & either have Protein as you exercise or right after too.

Thanks ladies I was thinking the same I haven't been eating all my exercise calories but have been eating about 200-300 more calories on the days I workout and prior to working out I usually have a Protein Shake so we shall see but I have to say I feel amazing now that I'm able to workout intensely !!!

I've just started to add in exercise as well and I was wondering this. I am between 600 and 800 as well... and that is with a Protein shake. Not sure how I could add much more right now, I still have a lot of restriction. So far I haven't had any issues being lightheaded or dizzy, etc. When I no I am going to exercise I drink half of my Protein Shake about 30 minutes before I go and then I sip it afterwards as well. So far it seems to be working :)

Next time I talk to my surgeon I'm going to ask him for a more specific plan.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
