DesertRat 32 Posted June 8, 2012 OMG, it was awful! Will I ever get used to these things. I've yet to commit to surgery and I'm trying out any number of things right now. I have to admit that the shake filled me up and left me more satisfied than most meals I've ever eaten but the scent and texture did not go well. BTW, it was a Bariatric Advantage Iced Latte flavor Meal Replacement.< /p>

rainbo 0 Posted June 15, 2012 I've been drinking EAS vanilla (2 scoops) mixed with about a tablespoon of instant coffee granules, a big splash of sugar-free amaretto flavored Syrup and crushed ice. I blend it in the blender and then drink it through a straw. The coffee is strong enough to kill the Protein taste and smell. It's pretty good. If you get enough crushed ice in it, you're golden. The problem is that you can only stand to drink it for so many days before you start getting sick of it. I tried Body Fortress that so many people rave about and it was DISGUSTING to me. It was chalky, gritty and just gross. The smell was great but that's all I can say about it.

rainbo 0 Posted June 15, 2012 I think I'm going to give those Isopure drinks a shot and see what they're about. Can you buy them individually somewhere or do you have to buy them by the case?
tabbmarsha 13 Posted June 19, 2012 I think I'm going to give those Isopure drinks a shot and see what they're about. Can you buy them individually somewhere or do you have to buy them by the case? Hi Rainbo, I just tried those isopure an to me they are gross also. To thick, gritty with an after taste. Not as bad as the powders but gross to me non the less. I am going to try and Water it down and see if that helps.
Beanzilla 14 Posted June 19, 2012 This evening I tried the unjury chocolate Splendor. I didn't think it was going to fill me, but it totally did, and it was pretty tasty with no weird aftertaste or grit. I love chocolate though, so I might be a little biased. I had purchased the starter kit, so I could sample the different flavors. I'm hoping I like the others ones as well, so I can have some variety. I guess just try different things and hopefully you'll find something you like. Nothing is more annoying than having to completely change you diet and hate what you are changing it to. Good luck! DesertRat 32 Posted June 21, 2012 I have an Unjury starter pack and have tried several with favorable results. The vanilla I had this morning was excellent, had no unpleasant aftertaste and kept me full until In & Out Burger opened and I had my double/double, animal style (no spread)/protein style (wrapped in lettuce, no bun). For those of you that live in the vicinity of an In & Out ordering "protein style" is a perfect way to get some lean beef, cheese, pickles and a Tomato slice wrapped in lettuce. "Animal Style" gets a bunch of grilled onions but I'd recommend specifying no spread; the spread basically being Thousand Island dressing.
