Is There A Relationship Between Preop And Recovery Rate?

Recommended Posts

Girl I had a 16 hour labor with a baby whos head was well over the 100th percentile, and my epidural ran out at 9cm, HAHA.

Ok that explains it, holy crap. :) I only had 4 hours of labor, really - pains just came and went randomly, and I actually went in just to get a hearbeat check (no movement for several hours) and I was already a 9. They put me on the monitor & no contractions, but at a 9 said they'd induce me if I didn't start labor in a few hours. Nothing, nothing. Get up to walk around and *bam* -- every 3 minutes on the dot, out of nowhere. That was around midnight and I delivered around 5am.

Got my epidural & no one came in to tell me to flip so only my right side was numb. That sucked - I think it made it worse than having no numbing.

I pushed for... maybe 45 mins. Nurses were very literally squeezing my thighs together to hold DD in until the OB could make it.

(sorry, O/T)

No pre-op diet at all. No post-op pain to speak of, very easy recovery.

Hi all! I've been reading various posts from just-sleeved people. Some say they had relatively no pain after surgery' date=' while others had quite a LOT. I always wonder what sort of preop diet the people followed who had a lot of pain. So for those of you who've been sleeved, can you answer a few questions?

[*']Did you follow a pre-op diet?

[*]If so, what/how long was it?

[*]On a scale of "no-pain at all" to "just shoot me", how would you rate your recovery process after surgery?

Thanks!

1.) Yes

2.) 2 weeks...two shakes a day, 3 high Protein Snacks a day and one dinner with 5 oz. of lean meat, 2 cups of non- starch veggies and 1 fat serving.

3.) I'm only 3 days post op. I've had pain from just shot me to very little. Of course, the very little was when I got a bolus of morphine on top of the morphine pain pump. Today was my first full day out of the hospital and I had to call the doctor for a stronger pain relief. I'm still not able to stand up completely due to the pain.
