gmanbat 5,889 Posted June 8, 2012 Now that I have lost considerable weight I have found less muscle under that layer of fat than I thought was there. Perhaps some of my weight loss was muscle but I think my perception of how much of me was muscle was overly optimistic. Now onto a bodybuilding regime! 1 clk reacted to this
Lissa 2,631 Posted June 8, 2012 I'm afraid I may be in the same boat, Gman! Hopefully, I'll find some muscle underneath all the fat layer once I whittle away at my abdomen! 1 gmanbat reacted to this
CanadianDot 11 Posted June 8, 2012 Darn, and I here I figured I was all rippling abs and flexing muscles under all this fat, from having to carry myself around all the time!! Apparently the skinny woman inside the fat me needs to work out more. *tsk* 2 hope2Bfitand40 and gmanbat reacted to this
clk 3,519 Posted June 8, 2012 Not only will you look better but you'll burn what fat you've left more efficiently if you add more muscle to your frame. It's almost impossible NOT to shed some muscle, especially in the very beginning when we can hardly eat. You're doing great so far! ~Cheri 1 gmanbat reacted to this

Apparently the skinny woman inside the fat me needs to work out more. *tsk* I used to have an exercise in which I would carry around a couple of 40 pound weights. It really worked my shoulders and legs. I carried the equivalent of that for years in fat so I thought my thighs would show it. Their stork-like appearance shows the error in my thinking. Being 63 and less endowed with testosterone I may have a struggle to attain Mr. Olympia size. No problem, like most men I have the power to exaggerate what I see in the mirror. rdoactv 218 Posted June 18, 2012 Lol. I was always a muscular young girl. I worked the Water and even did tree work, lifting 150lb logs, and bushels of oysters and crabs above my head. Im 38 now, and I'd be willing to bet that not only am I no longer a girl under all this, I bet muscular is a thing of the past too.
