Started Soft Foods (Sleeved 5/17)..scared To Eat To Prevent Lbs Loss...

Recommended Posts

Refusing to eat is not conducive to living. You don't wanna get dead!! K?? Your loss may take a temporary hit, but that is your body readjusting. Don't worry about it. Eat the food. Drink the Water. Do the exercise and you will lose the weight. Sleevie makes it easier to do that. Do not refuse to eat. You need Protein and calories and such to allow your heart to beat!! :) Be good girl.

I was actually at a stall, then started soft foods & the weight started coming off! Go figure! So doesn't necessarily mean you will put on weight!

I agree Nj Sharron... If you dont eat your body will think its in starvation mode and your body will stop losing. As long as you eat low carb high Protein you should never have to worry about gaining. Good luck and rem

You need to eat to lose weight. You're body is very intelligent. If it does not receive nourishment it will start believing that it is starving & will try to retain all of its stored energy(fat) conversely if you do provide it with consistent nourishment it will feel more secure and will release its stores(fat) because it knows there is more coming soon.

I was sleeved on the 17th too. I'm praying my sleeve can tolerate soft foods. I'm don't think I will stop losing. Maybe a short stall until my body adjusts.

Well I blamed my huge stall on starting solid food so I just wanted to emphasize the need to persevere (trying to be funny but sounded too serious! ;) ) just don't freak out if you stall a little.

My longest stall is when I started solid food. I had a few day stalls after 2 weeks or so out but I have been in this stall for about 2 to 3 weeks. My surg told me not to stress, I am finally starting to lose a few pounds now.

Stick with it!,

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
