bigkim 109 Posted June 8, 2012 As a sleeve patient I have a person in my life that assumes I should have lost more weight since my surg date of 4/10. My total weight loss is 35 pounds but I have lost several inches. People just think u wake up from the surgery thin and it does not work that way. It is so frustrating to hear the nagging comments and jokes. I started out at 261 and I would say losing to 226 is great and without the sleeve that would not be possible. Say a prayer for me!!! justmeandmysleeve 91 Posted June 8, 2012 Kim, Hang in there! That is my worst nightmare. I am going to be sleeved on July 19th and I am sick of the stigma that I am taking the "easy" way out. I don't think there is anything easy about the decision to take your life back into control. I'll be praying girl! ~Carly 1 serenekolaski reacted to this
MamaM 72 Posted June 8, 2012 WOW!! I think you're doing an amazing job! I'm sorry but either get that person out of your life or tell them to knock it off! If they have nothing good to say, you don't want to hear it!!! The jokes and comments are passive agressive and those types of people in general, are not good to have around. In all honesty, if it wasn't your surgery, it'd probably be something else. You have lost over 17lbs each of the last 2 months. That averages out to over 4lbs a week!!! That is AMAZING!!! Tell your "friend" to shut the hell up!
buffalogal 52 Posted June 8, 2012 I'm lucky to not have many toxic people in my life, but if I did, I'd tell them honestly to mind their own business.
