Are you still on any pain meds? Glad you are feeling well. Now the fun begins as you watch the scale drop numbers :)

Why would your collar bone be sore?

I'm going to guess gas or soreness from hernia or indigestion. Going to start taking Pepcid today.

How are you doing on drinking your fluids? I'm using the small measuring cups from the hospital it takes about 3 sips from that over 15 minutes to get it down. Now I have to go get some Jello to mis in my prilosec.

I'm trying my hardest. I feel uncomfortable if I drink to fast or to much. I was nervous to take Prilosec it looked to big so im gonna do pepcid.

Glad to hear everyone is okay! I'm a bit panicked - I get sleeved 6/14. So you all are able to swallow pills? I have two meds I have to take and that's one of the things I'm apprehensive about - swallowing a pill on post-op day 2.

No swallowing pills for me, I have to take the capsules apart and the actual pill ones I'm suppose to crush and put in something else like sugar free Jello or pudding.< /p>

I can't say anything about day 2, but I've been taking small pills since day 4. I think it will really be dependent on he size of the pill. If they are RX pills many of them can be compounded into chewable or crushable by any compounding pharmacy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
