Me too Yoda! Guess I'll be knee deep in StarWars after Christmas. Little son has on list for figures and lego (and elves have made lots) with Star Wars theme - but Mrs Claus isn't letting light sabre with all the bells and whistles in the house - annoying! Yoda is his favorite. HELP!!!!

.....but of course Yoda is his favourite!!! LOL.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that light sabre is keeeeeeeeeeeeewl. They have it at costco for a good price. Believe it or not I"m having the same trouble with Mr Yoda as you are with your 8 yr old!! HE wants that sabre too (he ain't gettin' it!!).

The Darth Vader Mr Potato Head is pretty kewl!

Well, hubby went out and braved the crowds to buy it for him - I'll not hear the end of it!! Boys will be boys. I think he thought it was too coooool not to get it. Sigh.....I'll have to take some tylenol to stop the headache I can feel coming on.

I haven't seen the Darth Vader Potatoe heads....now that would be coooooollll!

Okay, new year coming up and I feel the need to purge and refresh. I got out my 'rules to live by' from my surgeon, just to go over again. I thought I would share them with you guys, just in cause you feel the same as me.

1. Eat only 3 small meals a day, dense with Protein and fibre. I need to work on this.

2. Include 2 Snacks a day high in Protein, Vitamins and minerals. I need to work on this.

3. Restrict total meal size to less than 1 cup. I need to work on this.

4. Eat slowly - small bites, chew well(30 min/meal) stop eating as soon as you feel full.

5. Choose solid foods ONLY, after your soft diet. You will feel full longer.I'm not doing this as well as I should.

6. Do not eat and drink at the same time. Drink a minimum of 45-60 minutes after a meal and 15 before the next. I use to do this better.

7. Drink a minimum of 48-64 ozs of Water daily.

8. Avoid alcoholic and carbonated beverages. Ahh ya, hello, it's new years. No problem afterwards.

9. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day. 'hangs head low and walks away'

10. Take one chewable or crushed Multivitamin and Calcium supplement daily. This could be more consistant.

I guess you could call this the 10 commandments of lapbanders. I need to work on these things again, as you can see.

Happy New Year All!!!!

Thanks for the list Cloe. I haven't seen the rules before. They probably gave them to me but I don't remember because of my (then) drug induced state.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
