AliveAgain 283 Posted June 7, 2012 I'm finally to the point I keep my ring and band in their original box during the day. I like to wear them at night (comforting), but I've awoken to find them strewn in the bed. They fall off very easily with about a 2-3mm gap to my finger. But I still have 50+ pounds to lose before I'm where I want to be for long-term. When did you have your rings resized? I'm afraid of waiting until I'm near goal, going too small, then regaining. Let's face it, we're still planning to have a kid or two and I'm betting with age I'll crawl back up the scale here and there (you know, when I'm 80). I'm not interested in the little band things you can put on the back, I tried my grandmother's and they're very annoying.
cissiesue 119 Posted June 7, 2012 I would speak to a jeweler and ask him how small your rings can be sized down to. I know some settings cant accommodate drastic downsizing without side jewels popping out
jthurman 20 Posted June 7, 2012 I just took mine to the jeweler today. I almost lost them yesterday in the trashcan. Went down from 11 1/2 to 9 1/2. Woohoo!! It's worth the price to wear them daily without losing them!!! And I've only lost 64 lbs with about 140 more to go!!
JennyB 25 Posted June 7, 2012 A friend showed me her husband's ring that she got him for their anniversary, it was too big, but she didn't want to get it sized because she had it inscribed. So the jeweler put these too "balls" of gold (the ring is gold) on opposite sides of the inside of the ring and it keeps it on his finger perfectly and it didn't mess up the inscription. 1 mylifeinpink reacted to this

I am just headed to my jeweler this next week- I need something done with my ring- its slipping around like crazy-sometimes oFF- and even with insurance on it- I could not live with myself for losing it! Was the ring that you saw a larger band? My ring is a very large custom peice- it's 28grans of 18k gold with one 2. Something carat diamond- and I only want to have it sized once! I'm 6 weeks 2 days out- and have lost 40+ since surgery - I still have at least 50 more to go. I know sizing my beauty will alter the design - so I'm not excited- I hadn't thought of the balls inserted- I was going to ask my jeweler to temporarily insert a large ribbon of gold to help with snuggnes! Thank you for sharing this!
vsginnj 415 Posted June 29, 2012 The gold balls are the way to go. They come in all sizes and only take a couple min to do. They stick to plat also and cannot be seen with ring on.They can be changed to diff sizes easily , my guy Jimmy DaJewler did mine for nuttin' 1 kimbernada reacted to this

I was just telling my hubs that the ONLY downside to losing weight is that I don't think my ring can be resized. The band is one of those eternity bands that is soldered to the engagement ring. He had suggested that we just get the diamonds put into a new setting, but I don't want that!! (I love my ring!)
