How much will a 4cc band hold?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for letting me know your experience. Do you feel restriction now? I still don't think I'm particularly restricted. I can eat anything including bread without a problem and I never feel completely full. I just stop. Maybe I don't know what I'm trying to feel. I am losing well but it just doesn't seem like what was described to me. I don't have to eat small bites. Maybe I just need to be thankful and stop wondering about all the things I was told prior to surgery. It seems like most of the preop teaching and classes were not right in my case.

well I just had it done and I know last time he filled my half full 2cc's and I though hmmm its not that bad , but then after a few days about 6 it got tight. For a long itme it was good. Ive lost more weight and I think it naturally got loose. So give your band time Im sure it will tighten up. Im gonna wait and see if it will , and I know stress and exercise does it to me anyway . I cant eat chicken cause its too big and I do eat fast , adn confuse hunger for thirst

hmmm not really , I think that its the same as before, wich I thought is weird and my first fill was like that too and then it got tighter. I think Im like some others and I just stop before I have that uncomfortable feeling and Ive been slowing down more too.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
