Hey guys!

I'm going to be sleeved soon an was wondering if post-op you 'cooled' down. I've read several posts that said after the surgery you run a little cooler and don't sweat like crazy - which would be awesome and something else to look forward to!!

Thanks!!

I'll be watching this thread! I am so hot now, and sweat all the time! It's miserable in the summer. That is a huge motivating factor to me, to not sweat like crazy will be awesome when I lose weight!

oops! I saw the post along the side of the page and didn't realize it was in the "man room" :)

Yes, I wasnt a real hot person to begin with but I was downright cold sometimes after surgery. My husband would come home and I would be in bed with sweats on...and I hate to sleep in clothes! I am much better now ( and the weather is changing) but I still sometimes get chilled easier than most.

Before surgery, I would sweat like a pig a the drop of a hat. People would often ask me if I was feeling OK. I was always fighting the thermostat wars with my wife. Now, at 7 weeks post op, the only time I sweat is when I go to the gym and even then, not nearly as heavy as pre-op. This is a NSV you can look forward to.

Yo uhave no idea! I get so cold.

I recently survived a whole day non-stop in our warehouse. It was 99 degrees outside, so at least about 108 in the warehouse.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
