csawinski 3 Posted June 5, 2012 I Go soon to meet with my surgeon and I have some questions I have in mind I would like to go over with him . . . Ie does he plan on using a catheter(spelling?) am i going to have a drain and things like that. What are some other questions I should be looking to ask? Thanks in advance!! Gene1970 179 Posted June 5, 2012 What is the Pre-Op Diet? What is the complication rate for his practice? What post OP meds does he prescribe? How long will you be in the hospital? How many incisions? some Dr's are doing single incision although I'm not sure how popular that is yet.

AliveAgain 283 Posted June 5, 2012 Does he provide a post-op diet plan and guidance? If so, what kind of diet (low-carb, etc.) does he expect? What are his pre-op requirements (labs, tests, etc.)? What are HIS personal statistics for complications, hospital time, how many/how long has he performed this surgery? Does he repair hiatal hernias while he's in there (common in obese patients)? Also, if you use the search feature on the home pain and type in (with quotations) "questions for surgeon" you'll see answers other members have provided before. Good luck!
