Izzy0525 14 Posted June 5, 2012 What have you guys found to work best for you? I haven't been able to sleep much the last two days
barrbdoll 287 Posted June 5, 2012 Try some Maalox before bed.. It coats your stomach and my Dr. recommended it. It definitely helps. I still battle with acid reflux here and there. I switched from Nexium to Zantac 150 and I feel a slight difference.. I'm still trying to figure out what my trigger foods are. Also, increase your Water take if possible. I wasn't getting enough water in (It's HARD) and I think they may also have been an issue. I am still learning how to deal with the acid and heartburn. It's not bad.. just bothersome at times... Good Luck!

Beecharmer1982 9 Posted June 5, 2012 I will be 4 weeks post op this Thursday and still have to take acid reflux daily. I take one omeprazole every day (cut in half with a pill slicer) which seems to help after you've taken it for several days in a row. And I swallow a few teaspoon fulls of Gaviscon before bed a few times a week. Gaviscon is the best!! Doesn't taste very good going down, but it lasts through the night. I still can't seem to drink orange juice or eat super citrus-acidic foods...those seem to bring on a tummy ache. But all in all, with the daily omeprazole at the very least, I feel pretty good! I hope you start feeling better soon. Hang in there!
