Kmaskery, sorry you are still in the hospital. Hope you get to come home real soon.

My surgery was on the 5th, came home on the 6th, (along with an additional 10 lbs, lol) As of this morning I have lost the 10 lbs plus 2 additional lbs. I feel like I have actually lost weight now.

Having trouble getting in all of my Water. No where near target on Protein. Everytime I try to drink Protein, I think I'm going to throw up. I just took an anti-nausea pill see if that will help. Pain not terrible. Not walking as much as I should. Very tired still.

I'm home now... gas is kicking my ass... start Protein Drinks tomorrow. No real food issues yet, food actually repulses me at this point since it has now been 3 weeks since I've had anything. I hope I don't have an issue with bringing it back in. Looking forward to moving through this journey though.

glad you are home. try to remember to walk. that really helps move that gas out of your body. hopefully you will continue to feel better as each day passes.

Surgery June 4th, today is the 10th. I am sore still, I walk and I'm getting almost all my liquids in but I can't deal with Isopure . I also just ran into a fever today and spoke with my nurse. If it hits 101.5 we'll be heading back to the hospital, so I'm trying to break it now.

I'm allergic to all pain medications and I'm suppose to be on Adult Tylenol and I can't do it, it makes me completely sick. The drain is a pain in the neck but I get it out on the 13th. Such a long time to have a drain I think.

I am more tired today than yesterday, but I'm having severe coughing fits. I use the spirometer and Rhinecort and Ventolin throughout the day, but I had pleurisy in April and I am very susceptible to pneumonia. The coughing does hurt, but it is what it is. Having Lupus will obviously make recovery a little harder, but I think I'm doing pretty good.

The nurse said to try 1/2 cup skim milk today so i can get some Protein and I'll start regular liquids tomorrow because I can't tolerate the isopure.

I hope everyone else is having an easier time than me. I'm grateful my husband has been amazing this week. He goes to work tomorrow and I'm a little nervous, but my son will be here to help out.

I was sleeved 6/6. Not horribly sore but having a hard time getting my liquids in. Eating ok but Water hurts a little...weird? Walking good and stopped all pain meds before I left the hospital. Just worrying about the liquids and looking forward to some variety in food in the next few weeks!

Sleeved on 6/5 I'm doing great. Been up moving and walking. Down 14 lbs this morning including pre-op diet. All I do all day long is drink liquids but I still have a hard time getting them all in. Sore on my left side but it's bare able. The hardest part of the whole surgery is not being able to pick up my sweet 5 month old baby girl. I don't think she quite understands why mommy isn't holding her and lovin on her. But it will pass and she will have a healthy HOT mommy soon. Good luck everyone.

I was sleeved last Tuesday, the 5th. It was a rough first few days but I'm feeling better and better each day. I've had no real significant issues with gas and absolutely no issues with reflux or Constipation. It feels like a full-time job, but I'm doing great getting my fluids in. Protein, however, is another story. If that were my job, I'd have been fired by now. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
