The only thing that helped me was reducing stress and staying active, as contradicting as that sounds. The chiropractor helped a little too. The prescription meds made me too sick so I had to discontinue them. I'd try to stay away from Aleve since I think you'll have to discontinue that a week or two before surgery?

Yes, I'll have to stop taking it this week. Destressing is out of the question. I could be more active but by the end of my 9hr workday, I'm too exauhsted to do anything much less on purpose. I know that sounds like an excuse but I hurt so bad I can barely lift my arms or legs right now. I have a sit down office job from 8 - 5. If we're lucky we will get a break for lunch. Usually so behind, we just stay and work through it. Maybe after the sleeve I'll feel more like walking. I want to start it before my surgery June 25. So, from here, I'll just ask for prayers. :) Thank you for responding.

I'll definitely pray! The only thing that really worked for me was resigning from my job. I work part time now but I understand that's not an option for most people. It killed me to sit still for 8+ hours a day at work. Hang in there....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
