Hi Everyone,

I'm 5 months post-op and have been doing great until very recently. Between taking classes and working full-time I have found myself grabbing "quick" meals and could use some help.

I've decided to take a day in the week to prepare some low-carb high-Protein freezer meals.

I'm going to start off with Breakfast and make some mini eggwhite and veggie frittatas with a recipie I found online. But I am having a difficult time finding other small portioned recipies that fit the low-carb high-protein bill.

Any ideas?

I was in the same place as you. What I did was start making make ahead meals, too. Google Eggface ... she has lots of recipes that can be made ahead. I use her site for inspiration. However my go to quick food is chicken. I season a pack of boneless chicken breast & thighs with garlic & herb Mrs. Dash & olive oil then put it on the George Foreman. Put them in individual freezer bags and I'm set. I have also done pork chops & turkey burgers, too. I can eat them anytime for any meal. I also eat alot of veggies. I cook 2 or 3 veggies then put them in little storage containers and freeze those too. Plain greek yogurt with a pack of Splenda & sugar-free fruit is something else I keep on hand.

I hope this helps ...

My lunches generally aren't foods that need to be prepared. My favorite is roast beef slices (lunch meat if I have too, but sometimes my mom spoils me and makes an actual roast) with a slice of cheddar melted on top. When I use deli meat it requires just enough time to put it into a container.

Sometimes when I know my time is going to be cut short I will just make extra the night before, so that I can have the leftovers the next day. The george forman is my best friend though. If I cook a thin piece of chicken or pork it is literally done within 2-3 mins. MAX. And during the couple minutes it takes to heat up I am normally prepping whatever i'm cooking. My forman has the removable grilling element thingies, so I just pop them into the dishwasher (it said it was dishwasher safe!). Easy peasy for me!

Another thing I sometimes make in bulk are meatballs. They freeze easily, re-heat easily and go down great! They take some prep work if you want to make them from scratch, or your can buy them pre-made. I personally am not fond of the pre-made, but you might find some you like. Sometimes I drizzle some Tomato sauce and cheese over it for fake spaghetti. I just pretend that I already ate the spaghetti!

A favorite "snack" of mine is pepperoni chips! You buy the pre-cut pepperoni, put them on a paper towel on a plate, stick them in the microwave for a minute and voila! Crispy chips! Sometimes I sprinkle cheese over them before microwaving them... very yummy! Not so great on cals, but okay on Protein and zero carbs!

I made a big pot of chilli. Then put it in 4 oz containers.

Also, those pepperoni chips mentioned above are the bomb

Chili, chili, chili... White chicken chili, regular, turkey... Mmmm. I work 12 hour night shift and I throw all my stuff in the crockpot and take a nap. When I wake up, my house is filled with amazing smells and yummy food. And it's freezable and fridge safe

I'm only a month out, but I have already stocked my drawer at work with these staples to be prepared:

Tender beef Jerky

Turkey sausage

Smoked oysters (canned)

Sardines (canned)

Starkist ready packs (100 calories) tuna salad

Canned shrimp

Canned Chili

Muscle Milk Lite ready drinks

Also, I cook up a bunch of Tilapia and then measure out portions and freeze in snack bags. I cook a meatloaf, but instead of using a regular pan, I use a muffin pan, then freeze each meat muffin. When I have any meat left overs, I freeze them in small portions, too.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
