Houston17 115 Posted June 3, 2012 Preparing for the pre-op diet? I can't seem to get my head around trying to do that but I should! I go to the last visit with the Nutrionist on the 25th and my appt with the surgeon is on 7/2. After that, they submit to the insurance to get approval and I will be able to get my date. I keep thinking that this is my last month to enjoy food so I haven't cut back. Do you think that is normal? Over the years, I have tried lots of diets! I know what it's going to take but just can't seem to do it now..... Knowing what's in my near future! . Good luck to you!

Prior to that, I was eating all my favorite foods in massive quantities. :-) The first day of the preop diet, I wondered "how am I ever gonna do this?". The second day I cried so very sure I couldn't do it. The 3rd day, I tried to keep positive by reminding myself the preop diet is temporary and there is a "reward" at the end. I still wasn't sure I could do it. Then, the next day everything changed for the good and it has been pretty smooth sailing. I'm now almost done. Surgery is this Tuesday. Sansa 39 Posted June 3, 2012 I have been wondering about how sugar will affect me after my surgery. Do you find that the sugars in fruits and vegetables bother you too now? 1 StrangelyNormal reacted to this
