Allie ALii 60 Posted June 2, 2012 I had a bmi of Obesity (Class 2) pre op and now on week 14 post op i have an Overweight bmi and this makes me so happy! I'm feel so close to a normal bmi and to my goal weight that it seems unreal, my clothes don't fit anymore, i love that but at the same time i hate it, because i had tons and now i'm left with just a few options and i don't want to shop for clothes that i will just wear once. An amazing NSV i wore a shirt that i got 3 years ago when i lost weight and i couldn't wear all this years because of course i gained back, and it was a little losse that felt so good, i didn't think i will fit, i guess i don't see myself that different but i am. 9 sleeve 4 me, MinaT, BeanieandRosie'smom and 6 others reacted to this

keybold64 43 Posted June 2, 2012 Congrats to you, Allie! As far as the clothes issue, have you checked out any consignment shops (or Goodwill) in your area? I had never set foot in any place like that before, but I refused to spend tons of money for clothes that I would only wear once or twice, so I checked them out and was completely blown away. I have been going about once a month and every time I come out with a bag full of clothes for like $20.00 - it's crazy! I highly recommend checking them out 1 Allie ALii reacted to this

quietcougar 29 Posted June 4, 2012 Congrats! I agree with others - harness the power of your local Goodwill, St. Vincent DePaul, Savers, or other local stores for your wardrobe. If used clothes aren't an option, cheap new cloths can (sometimes) be found at places like TJ Maxx, JC Penny (sale/clearance racks), or some local department stores. If you have a Dollar General or Family Dollar, they may also have something. Best bet, bottom line, though, is the thrift store. Best part is, you can buy it for $5, wear it for a couple weeks, and re-donate it. Our local support group here also has a clothing exchange once a month; maybe yours does as well? 1 Allie ALii reacted to this
