Water Flavoring, What's Your Favorite?

Recommended Posts

I am going to the store today to research and try out Water flavoring packets. I really like the Crystal Light, but it is sweetened with Aspertane......The Crystal Light Pure are much healthier, but only come in two flavors and I am a bit sick of them.

What are you all using? I know plain old Water is best, but I tend to drink alot more if it is flavored

Mio Orange-Tangerine is my favorite. It has aspartame, but I love it anyway.

I like the Mio ice tea flavor. I like Mio in general better than Crystal Lite. It doesn't taste AS artificial.

Rainydayz, IIRC, the iced tea flavor has caffeine.

Love the fruit punch flavor in the crystal light, and unfortunately unless it has real sugar .most everything else has aspartame.I really like the Vitamin Water zero lemonade flavor no aspartame, but it has reb a,probably the same, but like you I will drink more water if its flavored

I really like the crystal light stix. But I mix it into a 1 liter bottle of Water so it's not nearly as strong.

I buy different kinds of flavored tea bags from Celestial Seasonings and a couple of English ones I find at Cost Plus World Market. Some I drink "straight", others I really have to add more Water & ice to. But they're a nice change from artificially sweetened drinks. If any of them need sweetening, I add a tiny bit of Blue Agave Syrup or I pluck a couple of Stevia leaves from my herb garden, and muddle them in the bottom of my glass.

Another vote for Mio! I absolutely love their new Mio Energy Dark Cherry flavor - gives me a good energy boost without feeling weird.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
