I really just eat what I normally would, as I really can't eat right before working out. I've always had that problem, it makes me feel like I gotta throw up.

Hydration is just as key as food. Also, people mistake the warm up from stretching and that can cause fatigue (as well as injury).

Warming up is just movement, "warming" the body...stretching comes after warming and a bit of exercize...and you will find that helps energize you also...

If you aren't used to exercizing, there is a wall alot of people (most) hit just before you get a second wind. You feel like you just can't go on (not to be misunderstood with you really should stop), but you are breathing hard but OK - heart rate may be over range but no more than about 10%...and BAM! Learn to break through the wall, and alot of that fatigue goes away. Its like a drug!

So true! I really used to hit that wall! But now I make sure to hydrate and follow with Protein right away when I'm done, so I recover quickly. I see that wall less and less all the time now!

You can buy expensive supplements or you can carb up with a piece of wheat toast with Peanut Butter on it. I have tried different things for my pre-workout from C-4 to Protein. I talked with my trainer and NUT about this and if you drink plenty of Water ( stay hydrated) and increase your carbs before your workout, this gives you the added energy to get through the workouts. In the weight loss phase it is hard because you are trying to limit your carbs but that is a bad idea. If you do not get enough carbs in, you will run out of energy and also you will burn lean muscle instead of fat. Experiment and see what give you that extra energy. You do not have to break the bank on expensive supplements.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
