Okay - I don't want to come across as being negative, but I am getting a little frustrated:(. I was sleeved on 3/9 and I have lost 38# since surgery. I have been busting my a$$ jogging and walking at least 5 days a week. Crossfit is another new friend of mine, but only do it 3 times a week. I have also been watching what I eat, getting my Protein in, as well as my liquid in take. Why am I losing sooooooooooooo slow????

I know it's frustrating to not lose as fast as you had hoped. I'm not sure what your expectations are, but everyone loses at a different rate for a lot of reasons. Different metabolism, different starting BMIs, etc. But, honestly, you've averaged over 3 pounds a week. That's really great! My surgeon says he likes to see sleeve patients lose 10 pounds a month, and you are losing more than that!

Just keep up the great work, and try really hard to not compare yourself to others. (I don't know if you are doing this, but I know it can cause a lot of us to get disheartened!)

My doctor also told me that 10 lbs a month is good. I was getting a little discouraged too! I am 6 weeks out and I have lost 15-20 lbs. If the doctors says its good then I guess I'm ok with that.

Yeah I was at a stall too at 5 weeks and now I have lost a few more. It does go away and it is frustrating but my doc saw me Wednesday and is happy with my weight loss so I am good too. We will get thru this!

I too am a slow loser so don't feel bad mine was on 4/21 and since then I have lost 12 lbs now total with preop 25lbs. I was getting mad to jumping on that darn scale everyday. Til I found some people on this site to help me understand..like I only have 75lbs to lose so my weight is gonna come of slower than a lot of the sleevers here..I have lost a lot of inches cause I feel it in my clothes..so stay positive it will come off.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
