Lilee84 648 Posted June 1, 2012 Perfectly normal.... Your stomach is swollen right now and the swelling needs to go down before you'll be able to eat anything... Even Jello. Have you tried sugar free popsicles? Warm broth feels amazing going down right after surgery too...
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted June 1, 2012 Well according to my post op diet it's only supposed to be Clear Liquids for the first 10 days an only a sip at a time. Your stomach is still swollen and irritated so, yeah I would say its probably normal.
Krysty 11 Posted June 1, 2012 I was able to eat Jello and sip liquids without pain, as long as I did it slowly and in very small quantities (no more than 2 ounces over a 15 minute period). Any more or faster than that definitely left me in pain. I practically lived on sugar free popsicles and ice chips those first few days.
