Need Help with What to Wear!

DH and I received an invitation to an awards banquet by his company. The invitation says Dress Business. I am assuming that means suit and tie for him, but what does that mean I should wear?

I was thinking something in the line of "Trophy Wife" because no one at his work has seen me since being banded. I want to turn some heads and cause some whispers.

Suggestions Please!!!!!!!!!!!

(I look hot in my new Levi's, but don't think that is business dress)

I don't know...that seems a bit formal! Maybe a short black dress?

It means evening wear which could be anything from an evening pants suit to a slinky dress.

But not foofy taffeta numbers.

I'd go black and elegant personally.

Wear a great slim skirt which is ALMOST too tight, but isn't. A silk blouse buttoned down ALMOST too low, but not. High heels that are ALMOST to high, but not. Several dangley braclets, one necklace with a small pendant that sit's in just the right spot to draw the eye but not be an invitation, and a pair of too-big diamond stud earrings. (Zircon will work - who'll know the difference?)

The perfect 'dress-business' outfit to make them all go . . . look at that! Uh huh.

I like Donna's idea, but since it's hubby's work group, you better run it by him. I once knew a businessman who was told that the photo of his wife in a two piece swimsuit (semi-bikini, but not terribly revealing) was inappropriate for the photo cube on his desk and to substitute another pic for it.

HHHHHMMMMMMMM.... Lisa that sounds nice for the bedroom but not for the ballroom.

Donna that sounds perfect for a tall girl...this gal is only 5'4"...no skirts.

My legs are nicely tanned and my husband is a leg man, so something just above the knee perhaps. All black with or without clevage showing?

The black dress is just perfect. It is fresh and sassy, yet business appropriate. That dress will take you anywhere in the spectrum of dress that you will probably see.

I love the black one too. I'd go with that one Mary. You'll look amazing!

Wear a pearl necklace with it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
