I'm going to start a list non-food rewards to use as motivation for staying on track both before and after my surgery. So far I have the more obvious ones...mani/pedi, massage, jewelry, nail polish/make-up...but I'm looking for more ideas.

What types of Atta-Girls/Boys are you giving yourself for making good choices? Thanks! B)

I know when I reach my goal weight I'm getting a Michael Kors purse. I don't really have any mini-goal rewards. I'm already really good at loving myself and showering myself with gifts :)

My rewards have been new jeans, tops, massage, Oh and I have a big one A hot airbaloon ride/wine tour. (this is a bucket list item) It was my gift to myself when I got to 240 as I hadn't seen that number in 8 years. Also I can't do it till Aug so I am hoping it will be a combo onederland gift too. :) I am going to start putting money away for my breast lift and TT. So no more big $$ rewards just little ones and a piggy bank.

Concerts, clothes, new gadgets for phone, camera, n computer. N kitchen stuff. U could do every mini goal (like 5 lbs) equals $5, put it in a jar til the big goals hit, count it up and blow it all on u

I'm thinking big & long term on this one. My reward to myself when I hit goal weight is a really nice custom tailored suit. Haven't decided on whethered it's gonna be Brooks Bros or Armani yet but it's gonna be rrediculously expensive & I'm gonna look great in it :D

I'm afraid that I am like SexySlim on this one. I very much believe in pampering myself, so it is hard to think of routine treats that would be meaningful. I'm buying myself the classic Coach weekend duffle when I reach goal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
