I just had surgery yesterday. I am on Clear Liquids today. I have tried 3 different crystal lights. None of them taste good. I actually feel nausea. Popsicles are to sweet. I am scared that I will get dehydrated. I don't know what else to drink.

Gatorade, Water, Vitamin water...they are all a little less sweet.

I drank Powerade zero a lot - the grape flavor - it wasn't too sweet, but it did make my reflux a little worse. I didn't like crystal light that much after surgery. I drank mostly regular Water . . .

Have you tried the MiO drops. I'm pre-op, but don't like sweet drinks and Water goes down much easier with flavor. I use a tiny squeeze of MiO, which lightly flavors the water without making it too sweet. Another option might be to try some of the sugar free Vitamin waters... or could you squeeze some lemon or lime into your water? Good luck, dear.

broth was ambrosia to me during the clear liquid stage. I also couldn't stand sweets right after surgery and I hated the crystal light stuff. Try some Kellogg's H2O Protein Water. It flavors the Water and gives you a little protein..

Good luck!!

Which crystal light did you use? I like the fruit punch because it taste sweet without sugar. However, my hubby hates sweets and favors the grape even the Walmart brand is great.

I'm sure you are still receiving IV fluids. I was not able to drink more than a few sip of Water before the nausea will hit me pretty hard. A few ice chips at a time the first day did it. Plus the pain meds kept me knocked out most of that day. So drinking was not much of an issue. Just could not do it. Day three was better as far as drinking sip of water and keeping it down. Be patient.

Water. Dilute a Popsicle with water. Sf koolaid only use 1/2 a pack til it's desired sweetness. Oh, tea. I drank my body weight in unsweetened tea with Truvia sweetener

You may be moving too fast. The day after my surgery I was only allowed an ounce of Water per hour. Plain water or ice chips. It was not until the day after that I was allowed Clear Liquids with flavoring and I had to drink those very slowly to avoid nausea. One or two ounces an hour. Give yourself time. It will come slowly.

I love Crystal Light, but I can't stand it full strength because it is too sweet. I use twice as much Water and that is perfect for me. That might be an option for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
