CandiKiss 15 Posted May 30, 2012 Hello, I wanted to know how soon many of you were able to return to work? Yes I know it depends on how each person heals because everyone is different. I would like to see the numbers. So 5 days? 2 weeks? Please share. Thanks
alliegb3 112 Posted May 30, 2012 2 weeks. But I could've gone after one week. I think you should go back after you follow up with the doc. That will be one week from discharge date (not actual surgery date) 1 CandiKiss reacted to this
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted May 30, 2012 It's gonna be the full 6 weeks for me. But I work in a chemical plant and my job requires I be able to lift 50 pounds before I come back to work. I had a hernia repaired during my surgery so the doc says no lifting for me till then. But frankly, other than that one limitation, I feel good enough to go back to work now. O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted May 30, 2012 This is a thread that I wanted to see. I am now 1 week post op, and am planing to return to work in 3 days. I'm sure a lot of this is very dependent on how physically strenuous your work is.

That will be one week from discharge date (not actual surgery date) Oh ok, bcos I'll be just starting a new job and my benefits don't kick in until 1 of Oct so I'm trying to figure how much time I would need off if I don't have disability. Thank you.

I don't won't to be taking a lot of time off work.

alliegb3 112 Posted May 30, 2012 Oh definitely if you gotta lift stuff- take longer. My doc said 4 weeks if I work on the floor (of the hospital, cause I gotta lift patients potentially) but I get to go back early cause they're putting me as a secretary for two weeks. Sandyb1967 2 Posted May 30, 2012 I was sleeved on the 22nd and returned to work today (8 days post op) and I was drained, hurting and slightly reopened one of my incisions. I probably should of waited till week 2 to return to work.....
Tibbie 55 Posted May 30, 2012 I was sleeved Wednesday the 23rd and went back to work Monday the 28th - I have a desk job and I'm able to work a few hours - go home and rest for a couple of hours - then go back and work a few more hours. I think tomorrow I will be able to pull a normal 12-14 hour day Sent from my iPad using VST 1 band2sleeveinNoVA reacted to this
